Adirondack Efficiency opened it's doors in October 2012 and is dedicated to improving the energy efficiency of homes in the southern Adirondacks of upstate New York. Since 2002, business owner Jennifer Monroe has worked on a range of projects with the Community Power Network of New York State, addressing the energy needs of households. Throughout this work it became evident that there is a need for energy efficiency services in the Adirondacks, but it is difficult for homeowners to access available programs due to a lack of Building Performance Institute (BPI) GoldStar Contractors. BPI sets the national technical standards for contractors in the building performance contracting trade and participating in the Goldstar Program is required for a company to implement NYSERDA's energy efficiency programs.
After partnering with other contractors to for 10 years, Adirondack Efficiency became a BPI GoldStar Company and hired a crew to install cellulose insulation and perform air sealing in August 2023. We also continue to work in partnership with BPI GoldStar Company Innovation Now based in Saranac Lake, to assist North Country residents in taking advantage of NYSERDA's Home Performance and EmPower+ Programs.
Let us show how to save money on your heating bill, make your home more comfortable and reduce the carbon emmissions of your home. In most cases, energy savings pay for the cost of improvements so your monthly expenditures won't increase. Remember...the cheapest energy is the energy you never have to buy!
